International Championship Show Judge
Together with my wife Wilma we owned our first pedigree dog in 1976 with an English Springer Spaniel who lived until he was 14 years old and then Chihuahuas appeared in 1987 and our other favourite toy breed the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in 1995. We began showing our Chihuahuas in 1988 and then we applied for our affix kennel name Keenaughts as our house is situated in the townlands of Keenaughts. My first judging appointment was in 1993 and so far I have judged a minimum of over 1000 chihuahuas and 330 classes of other breeds, some in other groups.
I am an Irish Kennel Club approved Judge who awards Green Stars (GS's) in all of the breeds in Group 9 and the Group at Championship show level. I also award Green Stars (GS's) under the Irish Kennel Club rules in the following other Breeds:-
GROUP 2 Miniature Pinscher
GROUP 3 Australian Silky Terrier
GROUP 5 Pomeranian
All of the breeds in Group 9
GROUP 10 Italian Greyhound
I also award Challenge Certificates (CC's) in Long and Smooth Coat Chihuahuas and I am on the "B" List for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels under the English Kennel Club rules.
So far together with my wife we have bred or campaigned 18 Chihuahuas to their championship title. We exhibited our very own Chihuahua to the *TOP winning long coat Chihuahua in the UK for 2007 (the very first irish exhibitors to do so) and we are the breeders of the *TOP Chihuahua of both coats in South Africa for 2008. Our home-bred stud dog Multi Champion Keenaughts Rickee Robin has sired 8 champions to date and is the sire of the *TOP winning smooth coat in Ireland for 2005/2006/2007/2008.
At present I am a committee member and Chairman for this past 17 years for the Ulster Chihuahua Club and together with my wife who is also a committee member and at present the Secretary of the Ulster Chihuahua Club.
